Donald Trump's Crowd Size Became a Big Issue

One of big issues surrounding Donald Trump’s inauguration was the number of people in attendance. News outlets and people on social media compared Trump’s crowd to former president Barack Obama’s. White House press secretary Sean Spicer even spoke about the comparison at a press meeting claiming the media inaccurately reported on Trump’s inauguration crowd.

The three media outlets I compared were CNN, CBS news and Forbes. Each outlet’s coverage on this particular topic was the same because photos showed less people. CNN posted an article with the title “White House press secretary attacks media for accurately reporting inauguration crowds” Forbes posted an article titled “Trumps inauguration garners 7 million fewer viewers than Obama’s,” and CBS news titled their article “President Trump’s inauguration crowd was smaller than Obama’s” and each article included the numbers of how many people were in attendance.

Many people took to twitter to express their opinions of the inauguration and many of them were not in support of President Trump.  Photographer Jordan Uhl tweeted about the crowd size of trump and the crowd size of the women’s march, which had an attendance of 2.5 million.  Manager of CNN Zach Wolf tweeted an image comparing the crowd size of the march and Donald Trumps inauguration. Trump supporters also took to twitter to defend him, sarcastically comparing his crowd size to Hillary Clinton’s.
